Framed Scripture Art

I can take no credit for this "genius" idea!
It was my sister-in-law (Pam) that dreamed it up -- right down to the washi tape holding up the word art!
The idea is to take an empty frame -- hang it on the wall and tape up a new piece of word art every so often.
I actually sticky-tacked my frame up since it didn't have a hanger on it.
That also makes it easy to turn it sideways for horizontal art.

Someday I'd like to make some word art printables using some of my favorite quotes...until then: Here are some links to freebies from other places!

Simply Stamped

What do you do if you have less than an hour to create a set of cards for a gift and 10 thank you cards?
1. Use a big stamp 2. use the assembly line method 3. keep it simple!
Here's the set I made for an overnight guest -- each card has a different verse on it.
Supplies used:
  • Anna Griffin Stamp
  • Scripture Impressions
  • White photo corners
  • Cardstock
Here's one of the 10 thank you cards (all alike) I created in that same window of time:
Stamp Sets:
  • All Season Wreath Sentiment (Stampin Up)
  • Owl Garden (Hampton Art)
  • Recollections Set

Bedroom Reveal

Finally home again after a long trip to see my niece graduate from preschool, my sister-in-laws graduate high school, and celebrate my parents 50th anniversary with a surprise party!!
I'm also finally finished with re-decorating my bedroom in a "Primitive - The Lord is my Shepherd" theme.
The finishing touches were the burlap curtains, wall sticker village, and a homemade framed art print.
(I ordered the burlap from Hobby Lobby using a 40% off coupon  - they were doing a $1.97 shipping deal at the time so I got all the material I needed for something like $23!)
I'm loving how "warm and cozy" it feels now that it's finished!

Entertaining Guests

I'm back to blogging -- for a week at least!
This past week we were having special services at our church and it falls my lot to entertain the guest speaker.
I thought I'd share a few things I do to in preparation for entertaining guest speakers in my home.
WELCOME BASKET
Above you'll see a welcome basket -- usually filled with little things like:
Notepads
Homemade Greeting Cards
Peppermints
Magazine
Candle
And in this case a knife for the speakers pocket knife collection!
 SNACK BASKET
I fill a basket with snacks for in between meals....just in case a hunger pang strikes or they need a sugar "pick-me-up."
Included in this are:
Cereal Bars
Snack Crackers
Peanut/Almond Bars
Fruit Snacks
CLEANING
I spring clean both the bedroom and the bathroom to be used by the guests.
This entails:
  • Moving furniture to sweep up dust bunnies
  • Wiping down cobwebs from ceiling corners
  • Scrubbing bathroom floors on my hands and knees making sure to get in all the corners and cracks
  • Dusting: the pictures/shelves on the walls, light fixtures, tops of bookshelves etc.
  • Cleaning blinds/windows
  • Ironing pillowcases
  • Sweeping along the edges of the walls and in corners with my sweepers attachments
Nothing says "I'm glad your here and I've prepared for you" like a sparking clean room/bathroom.

I'll be back later this week to share some of the new appetizer type recipes I used for after church snacks.

You can find the free template for this card here.
BTW - I've been VERY busy lately and not had a lot of time to post -- Hopefully I'll be back in a week or so!
